A block puzzle for the TV

Tumblesky

Tumble a block end over end across floating sky islands and settle it in the socket. Every move changes what the block covers, so every level is a small plan you work out with the arrow keys on your remote.

How it plays

One press, one tumble

Each press of an arrow tips the block over one of its edges. A tall block lying down covers two cells, and stood up it covers one. The socket at the end of each level only takes the block in one exact pose, so you plan how you arrive, not just where.

Mistakes cost nothing

A fall rewinds by itself. Undo is unlimited, holding OK restarts the level, and even a restart can be undone.

Help when you want it

Faint landing marks show where each tumble would land, with a small cross where it would fall or break glass. If you get stuck, the pause menu offers to show you the way.

Stars, not timers

Nothing moves until you press a key. Finish at or under par for three stars. Your best time is kept, but it never counts against you.

Built for the sofa

Play with the arrows and OK on a standard TV remote, or point and click with a pointer remote. Reduced motion, high contrast tiles and landing marks are all in Settings.

All of the music and sound is synthesised by the game as you play, with a calm score for each sky. Each tumble is a soft note in the sky's key, so the route you take plays a little melody. Every sound cue also shows on screen, so you can play with the sound off.

The skies

Five skies, five blocks

Each sky brings a new block and the mechanics that suit it, ten levels at a time. Solving a level opens the next two, so you can always skip one, and the next sky opens once you have solved seven.

  1. A red domino standing on a small floating island. Levels 1 to 10

    Daybreak

The tall block. Glass that breaks under a standing block, pressure plates and the bridges they open.

  2. A yellow cube on a small floating island. Levels 11 to 20

    Trade Winds

The cube. Wind vents that carry it over gaps, portals, and blocks that split in two and merge again.

  3. A green slab standing on edge on a grey floating island. Levels 21 to 30

    Thunderhead

The flat slab. It rolls along on edge, presses two plates at once and splits into two standing halves.

  4. A purple L-shaped block on a pale floating island. Levels 31 to 40

    Aurora

The L-shaped block. Its arm can hang over the void, and a hook tumble clears a two-cell gap.

  5. A pink T-shaped block on a lilac floating island. Levels 41 to 50

    Starfall

The T-shaped block, then a run of levels that brings every earlier block back, ending in a finale with the T.

Ads and Remove ads

Free to play, in plain words

All 50 levels are free. The game pays its way with a short ad between levels now and then, and one optional purchase turns those ads off for good.

When an ad can appear

  • Only between levels, never while you are playing one.
  • Not at all for your first few levels. The earliest is after level 5.
  • At most once for every two levels you solve, and never twice within five minutes.
  • Continue is ready after five seconds, and the Back button closes an ad straight away.
  • The ads are our own: a card about Remove ads, or about our other game. They are built into Tumblesky, load nothing from other sites and collect nothing about you.

Remove ads

  1. Choose Remove ads. It is on the title screen, in the pause menu and on the level map.

  2. Scan the QR code with your phone. Pay USD 1 by card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Stripe takes the payment on your phone, so the TV never sees your card.

  3. Ads stop within seconds. The title screen then shows Ad-free.

It is a single purchase of USD 1, with no subscription and nothing else to buy. One purchase covers up to five TVs: Settings, then Purchases, shows a restore code that turns ads off on another TV or after a reinstall. How restoring works.

Good to know

Plays offline, keeps little

Tumblesky has no accounts and no analytics, and the whole game plays without an internet connection.

The Tumblesky privacy details list the little it keeps, and the studio privacy policy covers everything else.

What you need

  • A TV with Tumblesky, and its remote. A pointer remote works too.
  • No internet connection to play. One is needed only to buy or restore Remove ads.
  • A phone, only if you buy Remove ads. You pay on the phone, never on the TV.
